Just cleaning up files on the laptop and reminiscing about that year we published a physical magazine. Although Surkeus Magazine was a relatively short lived endeavor, it was something we always wanted to do, so we did.
Issue 1 and 2 photos by the super talented Hailey Krakana.
Issue 3 (Couldn't find the original cover file) was designed by our pal Joey Malbon (Joey Chaos and the Ghosts)
Issue 4 was of my own design, a photo taken in a vintage clothing/wine bar in downtown Halifax, NS.
There's something about holding a physical magazine, like music, playing a cassette or LP or CD even. It's just so much more satisfying. Maybe it's just me.
So yeah, Surkeus Magazine. Thanks to everyone who read and supported it. Would love to know if there's any copies still floating around out there.
Also, Issue 1 made it into the Sail Cassady music video for "Old Green House", which is super cool (2:01 into the video), I'll post the link to that video below too. Cheers.
